Dr Kern was accompanied by the second mayor Dr Dorothea Deneke-Stoll and IFG board member Professor Georg Rosenfeld, among others. President Professor Walter Schober, Vice President Professor Hans-Joachim Hof and Dr Christian Lösel, Managing Director of AImotion, took part on behalf of the THI.

During a tour of the university, the guests were able to experience research at first hand - including in the laboratories and while testing innovative virtual reality applications. A special moment was the view from the roof terrace of the neighbouring construction site of the Museum of Concrete Art - a visible sign of the growing campus and the progress of the educational location.

During the discussions, it became clear how closely the university and the city are already working together - for example on topics such as infrastructure, securing skilled labour and promoting innovation. Both sides emphasised their shared desire to further expand this partnership.

Lord Mayor Dr Michael Kern was convinced: "Today's visit is of great importance to me. The THI is a central component of the educational landscape and a driver of innovation. It provides important impetus for the regional economy and makes a significant contribution to the attractiveness of the location."

"A successful region is characterised by close cooperation between science, business and the community. In recent years, we have managed this well in Ingolstadt. I look forward to further developing and intensifying this cooperation with Lord Mayor Dr Kern," said THI President Professor Walter Schober.

The visit sent a clear signal in favour of the close cooperation between the city and the university - a basis for sustainable development and joint progress.
