Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) will start the new Bachelor's degree course in Robotics (B. Eng.) in the winter semester 2020/21. In seven practice-oriented semesters, students learn to plan and implement the use of robots and similar autonomous mechatronic systems on a scientific basis. This prepares them for challenging activities in the development and use of such systems, whether in production or in other socially relevant areas such as medical technology - in all areas where automation, digitalization and networking play a role. A scientific career is also possible.
The German-language course of study familiarizes students in particular with the software, electronics and mechanics of stationary and mobile robots. Sensors and actuators play just as important a role as programming, communication and simulation. Students learn how to develop robots in a targeted manner with the help of artificial intelligence, image processing or machine learning so that they can react flexibly to human characteristics and handle complex tasks in which the abilities of humans and robots are combined in a safe form.
Applications for the bachelor's programme in robotics can be submitted until August 20.
