As part of the “Business Consulting” course, which is offered as an elective subject in all Bachelor's degree programs at THI Business School, 35 students were given the opportunity to get to know Deloitte Luxembourg during a two-day excursion. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Mandy Habermann and Prof. Dr. Alois Rauscher, the students gained practical insights into the working world of management consulting.

Varied program and practical case studies
In Luxembourg, the students were welcomed by Frank Lichtenthaeler (Partner), Nikolas Hoffmann (Consultant) and Marisol Diaz (Consultant). They were introduced to the various service lines of Deloitte Luxembourg, including Audit & Assurance, Tax, Advisory & Consulting and Reporting & Operations. Representatives of the individual departments gave the students exciting insights into their fields of work by means of interactive case studies.

A particular highlight was a realistic case study in the Advisory department, which the students worked on in groups. They then presented their results and received valuable feedback on their approaches and presentations from experienced experts.

Insights into Luxembourg's financial world and cultural highlights
In addition to the professional insights, the students were given a tour of Deloitte's main building, the so-called “D.Square”, and learned about Luxembourg's role as an international financial center and important location for the fund industry. A guided tour of the city of Luxembourg and a stay and dinner with Deloitte in Trier rounded off the excursion and also offered cultural highlights.

Valuable contacts and practical insights
The excursion enabled the students to apply their theoretical knowledge directly and make their first professional contacts in the world of management consultancy. The visit to Deloitte Luxembourg will be remembered as an enriching experience that provided new insights into the professional world and important guidance for the future.
