In six exciting presentations, experts from THI and guest speakers will get to the bottom of current developments in the field of AI. They will show how AI is changing our mobility, what role it plays in sustainable production processes, and what skills we need for a sustainable society. In addition to practical insights, there will be plenty of room for questions and discussions. The lecture series starts this year on 20 February 2025 and will take place online on Thursdays after work. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. The series will kick off on 20 February 2025 with SiZhong Hu's lecture ‘What are autonomous shuttles and how can they be integrated into public transport?’. One of the most pressing challenges of our time is the decarbonization of the mobility sector - especially in rural regions. To date, there has been a lack of convincing concepts for shaping this change in a way that conserves resources and meets demand. One promising approach that has become increasingly important in recent years is electric, autonomous shuttle buses. These vehicles could not only be operated in an energy-efficient manner but could also create considerable added value for society by being fully integrated into local public transport. The speaker of the first lecture is SiZhong Hu, a research associate in the ‘Mensch in Bewegung’ project at THI. With a bachelor's and master's degree in industrial engineering specialising in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, a career as an engineer in the automotive industry and his consulting experience as a mobility expert for the German government, he combines scientific know-how with practical experience.
