Art in the materials technology laboratory

The fascinating structures of fish, an astronaut or a chameleon - all these motifs are based on microscopic images from the laboratory. Behind them are everyday objects that we see from a completely new perspective: Coins from a wallet, a gold plate, a mobile phone display and much more. There were no limits to our creativity!
We often don't even realise that everything around us is made of special materials. In the seminar "What is THAT - a material journey through everyday life", the students took a closer look - and created impressive works of art from a wide variety of materials.
The resulting posters are on display in front of the Materials Engineering Laboratory (C102) - it's worth stopping by!
A big thank you to all participants for the exciting and creative days!
Many thanks also to Prof. Kerschenlohr and Prof. Oberhauser for their inspiring guidance.
